Before you choose

Portable Butane or a Corded Iron?

Butane tools are useful when portability, fast heat, hot air, or an open flame matters. A temperature-controlled electric station is usually the better choice for long bench sessions and heat-sensitive electronics.

Use the right tool

Heat Control and Ventilation Matter

Follow the tool manual, work in a ventilated area, keep combustible materials clear, and use solder and flux appropriate for the job. Butane tools are not substitutes for properly rated equipment on plumbing, gas, structural brazing, or other heavy-duty work.
